Nothing is for free and everything comes with a cost and probably none of us would have considered that our favorite beverages may be one of such costs to our body. Let’s have a look at the most dangerous beverages one must either steer clear of, or use them sparingly.
Sweetened Soft Drinks
Soda is a liquid containing sweetened and carbonated water. In the United States almost 16% adults consume at least one soda daily. Over time such consumption follows a person to serious weight gain, diabetes, or even tooth loss.
Energy Drinks
As stated, energy drinks contain 15-25% caffeine and 40-50 grams of sugar per can. They also contain other ingredients to entice the drinkers. Overestimating oneself and these drinks could lead to anxiety, insomnia, or even heart problems.
Alcoholic Beverages
Balanced consumption is always helpful but binge drinking is hazardous. It is linked to a number of diseases; liver disease, breast cancer, and many more.
Sweetened Fruit Juices
Most fruit juices have an array of additional sweeteners. This raises blood sugar levels while also inducing weight gain without the necessary fibers present in whole fruits.
Flavored Coffee Drinks
Coffee drinks with flavors add syrups and whipped cream to the beverages to give them even more flavors. They contain added sugar and unhealthy fat. Taking them regularly could encourage weight gain and high blood cholesterol.
Sweetened Iced Tea
Shocking many, bottled iced tea contains more sugar than soft drinks, making it a source of empty calories that one does not need. It can lead to weight gain and almost certainly dental problems.
Premixed Cocktails
By the time you reach the shelf in the store for the premixed cocktail, chances are high they have added sugar and artificial ingredients already. If combined with some alcohol, empty calories and enormous harm to the liver.
Sports Drinks
sports drinks are meant to hydrate. Most of them are high in sugar and sodium, which is not necessary for casual people. These can cause weight gain and high blood pressure.
Diet Sodas
Diet sodas are calorie free but often have artificial sweeteners in them which could upset metabolism and gut health. More importantly, diet sodas are directly linked with increased cravings and weight gain.
Bubble Tea
The bubble tea is a trend for Millennials, with additives like chewy tapioca pearls and sugary syrups making it high in calories and sugar. The adverse impacts include a rise in the risk of developing obesity and diabetes after regular drinking.
